Our DVMTA theme this year has been “The Adventure Begins”, and I’m so pleased with all that has been accomplished. We ran the course through Music Marathon, and discovered hidden treasures from budding composers with Original Composition. The drumbeat of Cavalcade brought us to the Circus and we soared high above the Circus ring. Students climbed their way atop the mountain of Excellence for Awards in Excellence, and we enjoyed the view with them. The twists and turns within the maze of Achievement Day have honed skills and abilities, and Awards Plus students rode the wave of Accomplishment and Recognition. Congratulations to all for a wonderful year, filled with adventure and experience. In the book “Wonder” the main character, August Pullman, states, “I think there should be a rule that everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their lives.” I wholeheartedly agree, and there are none more deserving than our fabulous DVMTA students and their teachers!
The end of this DVMTA year also brings change within the DVMTA Board, and I want to thank all DVMTA members who have supported the outgoing Board and Committees so wonderfully. It has been a pleasure to serve as President, and I’ve appreciated all the kind words of encouragement and the support that is given every day as members serve to make DVMTA function so well. I wish the incoming President, Executive Officers and Board members success and thank them for their service. Have a wonderful summer!
