Hello everyone, what a wonderful time of year. For most in the valley it’s the time of year to enjoy the sunshine and mild weather, and to enjoy every minute outdoors that we can. For DVMTA Teachers, it’s the time to be busy with spring events. I don’t know that I always enjoy every minute of the stress as we prepare students for these events, but I always enjoy celebrating with students the successes they have as they participate, learn and grow. These moments are what make all the work and preparation worth it, and I hope many of our students are able to participate in the variety of events we offer.
We had a wonderful General Meeting in February with Shelle Soelberg, who gave us some fun and creative ways to teach theory to our younger students. We loved her energy and enthusiasm as she presented material that allows students to learn through engaging their entire bodies. Great ideas as we prepare for Achievement Day.
We want to give a huge THANK YOU to our Cavalcade committee for an awesome and amazing Cavalcade. Joni Walker, Hollie Lunt, Charles Newton, Kelli Riding and Heidi Morris have done such a wonderful job, we appreciate them so much! My students are still talking about it, and had so much fun performing and being entertained by the Marvelous Magician, Craig Davis. So many hours were dedicated to this event, thank you again to the committee and to all teachers who volunteered and helped, especially our amazing Directors!
With three big events back to back in the spring there are many who are giving so much time to make sure every detail is attended to. We have such wonderfully gifted members who do so much to help this organization be all that it can be. Thank you to all of you!
