 | DVMTA members joined together virtually to welcome our presenter, Chris Oill, and learn methods for teaching composition to younger students. Chris presented his process for helping these students begin with an idea, then develop the idea through imagination, story-telling and imagery, before musically experimenting with the sounds of the story to give it life. Teachers were given steps and ideas to help students through this process, and to complete the process with a well thought-out and finished composition. Chris also performed some of his own compositions. Thank you to Chris, it was a wonderful meeting.
