Hello DVMTA Friends! It’s been wonderful to connect with so many of you at our last two General Meetings, and with Music Marathon right around the corner, we’re about to start our adventurous DVMTA Events season! I have been so impressed with our DVMTA leadership and their willingness to rethink how we can provide opportunities for our students even in the midst of so much uncertainty. These events motivate students and give a purpose to all the practicing, and parents are thrilled to celebrate their children’s accomplishments and see the payoff for all their effort.

We look forward to seeing you for the Cavalcade Music Read-Through at the next General Meeting, Oct. 30th, 9:30 a.m. at My First Piano in Mesa, or virtually via Zoom.

General Meeting September 25, 2020

DVMTA's first General Meeting of 2020-21 was a wonderful success. Members and friends gathered in person at My First Piano Recital Hall, and virtually, through a live online link. It was fabulous to be together again and to hear from our presenters, Shelle Soelberg and Simone Lund, of Let's Play Music. Shelle and Simone discussed ideas and methods of incorporating elements of Play into music learning, and demonstrated exercises and activities that are fun and engaging for students. Additionally, they discussed their transition program, Bridges, that aids students who are leaving Let's Play Music and graduating to one on one private lessons. We had a great time participating, and thank them for sharing their knowledge and energy.
